Its from lenovo, heard fan controls are locked but no one could give a definite answer For the Gigabyte boards that it doesn't work on, you have to use a specific build of Fan control that's made for that one board controller. Like certain Gigabyte boards or MSI boards, but it works with all ASRock boards, for example. LHM usually works with most big named motherboards, only a select few don't. The motherboard should have some way to control fans, even if you have to use either BIOS or the motherboard software from the manufacturer. I am trying to know whether my mobo allows fan control before I purchase some arctic fans That doesn't necessarily mean it'll work but if you see the duty cycle value change, it's very likely you'll be able to control the fan. If you don't have a fan connected, the fan section will stay at 0RPM because nothing is being read on the RPM pin of the header, but you can change the duty cycle of the control section. Each fan/control combo corresponds to a single fan header. Each fan is controlled by a specific control. The "fan" section shows the RPM and the control section shows the Duty Cycle. So if you download and run LHM, it'll have something similar to HW info's sensor table and under the fans there will be two sections: one for fans and one for controls. It uses Libre Hardware Monitor as its backend.
